How to read this list

The statements are grouped by axis here so you can see each axis balance for itself. You will answer 60 statements across 12 short steps. The number on each statement is its real position in the test. The label tells you which letter agreeing with that statement moves you toward, so a statement labeled I is one where agreement pulls you toward Introverted and disagreement pulls you toward Extraverted.

What shaped this bank

The five-point agreement format follows the technique Likert set out in 1932. The five choices map to fixed numbers: −3, −2, 0, +2, and +3. People answer reversed and negated items less consistently than plain ones. Half the statements on each axis are written toward one pole and half toward the other. Without that, agreeing with everything would produce a confident result out of nothing but agreeableness.

Read this before you scroll

Reading the bank first will change how you answer it. Knowing what a statement is measuring makes it easy to answer as the person you would like to be rather than the one you are, and there is no way for us to detect that. If you have not taken the test yet and want a result worth keeping, take it first. This page will still be here afterward.

Each axis shows its own balance. The number on a statement is its real place in the test, not a new order invented for this page.
